Hey!

Here is the information about open collective that I got from their
documentation.

To create an account
(https://docs.opencollective.com/help/collectives/create-collective) we
will need to have individual accounts that manage the collective page in
opencollective.com. We need to make  a decision if to have a fiscal host
(pay a fee but no need for bank account) or go independent (no fee but
need a bank account).

Two options:

 1. Independent collective:
     1. Unlimited access to all features
     2. No fees if we hold money in your own bank account
     3. We would need to see how taxes work here.
 2. Through a fiscal host:
     1. Unlimited access to all features
     2. A fiscal host is an organization that welcomes others to operate
through their structure, so projects can use the host’s legal
entity and bank account instead of setting up their own. The
host provides administrative services, oversight, and support
     3. Fees depend on who is the fiscal host. It could be 10%, 5% or 0%
     4. Tax-exempt or charity status
     5. Options for fiscal hosts:
        https://opencollective.com/search?isHost=true
         1. Open Collective Europe hosts 363 collectives (for example
            host lurk.org and mastodon.world) :
            https://opencollective.com/europe
         2. Open Collective US hosts 3384 collectives (mostly open
            source projects, for example mastodon):
            https://opencollective.com/opensource
         3. Fiscal hosts for mastodon projects
            https://opencollective.com/search?q=mastodon . Some of this
projects are on their own and some have other fiscal hosts
            like Accountable
            https://opencollective.com/the-social-change-nest

To pay people: Money contributed to a Collective goes to the bank
account of the fiscal host. When someone wants to be paid, they submit
the expense through the collective page in the open collective
website. After one of us approve it, the person is reimbursed via
PayPal. "Expenses are visible publicly, so everyone can see how much
money was spent and on what (though private details like emails, names,
and addresses are only visible to that user and the admins)."
