hello sharon and cecile,

systerserver is a translocal project. if you need to give a country name i would go with austria, as this is where the bare metal machine is located.

and here comes the info for the workshops and the spreadsheet:

'feminist autonomous infrastructures' workshop (1):

this workshop introduces the notion of feminist servers alongside the work of systerserver.net. starting with one of the feminist server manifesto's guiding principles, we are going to explore what it means to 'decide for our own dependencies', looking at the technopolitical entanglements of our academic, activist and artistic practices. in queering the relations between users and service providers, we are setting the scene for developing and inhabiting community based data infrastructures with care. the workshop also covers the basics of system administration and provides guides, manuals and info on how to create and maintain a community server.

'feminist networking' workshop (2):

this workshop addresses the promiscuous practice of networking through the lense of recent systerserver and systerserver-related projects regarding feminist video artist residencies online, feminist federating and the creation of an experimental publishing platform. together, we are going to explore the different modes and aspects of building feminist networks, looking into the material and protocol-based logic of forming and cutting connections. the workshop aims at a contestation of centralized power, introducing and exploring tools and projects such as the fediverse and its underlying protocol as well as tor and vpns.

Hi Nate,

Just a quick follow up email as we are trying to finalise the document.

Wondering also, which country would you say Syster Server is located?

Hope all is good.

Hi Nate,

Thanks for this, and absolutely great news to have the team on board.

Would it be okay if you supplied some text for two workshops...just a sentence or two so we can include it in the programme. Currently these are programmed as hybrid, but I've added some travel budget - but we can plan that when/if we get the bid!!

We've increased the cost per meeting to €120 and were thinking a monthly meet up over 2 years - hope that's okay. So a total of €2880.

Lastly, if you could fill in this table, that would be amazing...

Thanks again for such positive response to the project. We really look forward to working with you on this, and I know there are other exciting things on the horizon too.

Any questions please do let me know.

Best wishes,

Sharon

Hello Nate, I hope you are keeping well.

I just wanted to send a quick follow up email to see whether you have had a chance to discuss the proposal and if there was some interest, and if yes, you had an indication of the secondements and/or workshop and what the related costs/fees would be? We are finalising the project budget by the end of this week, but of course do let us know if you want to talk and/or have any additional questions.

Take care and speak soon.

Dear All,

Following on building a fullstackfeminism toolkit and platform - https://fullstackfeminismdh.pubpub.org/<https://fullstackfeminismdh.pubpub.org/> - we are putting together a European Doctoral Network bid (deadline Nov 2024), which involves four universities located in Ireland, France, Germany, and here in the UK. The bid would result in ten + PhD students carrying out research related to intersectional feminist approaches to technology. We are keen to ensure an element of this work relates to full stack feminism and autonomous feminist infrastructures. So of course Syster Server came to mind.

Essentially, the doctoral network has capacity to include non-academic partners as either providing some sort of training to the doctoral cohort, and/or supporting a secondment over the 3 year programme. The cost of these would be included in the budget and are therefore open for discussion in terms of the resource required to support this.

Do let me know if more info is needed at this point or/and perhaps a meeting to discuss how Syster Server might be interested in this?

Many thanks, cecile
