Dear Systerserver,

Thank you for your abstract submission to our Mastodon research event. We are delighted to inform you that we would like to include you in our event programme.

We received more submissions than we were anticipating and we have tried to include as many presentations as possible. This means we have had to get somewhat creative with the scheduling of sessions since we didn’t want to have multiple panels running simultaneously.

Please read the following carefully. If you are attending in-person, you will have 15 minutes to present. If you are attending online, we ask you to prepare a 15-minute pre-recorded presentation. These will be made available to everyone one week in advance of the event (upload instructions to follow). On the day, online participants will be invited to give a 5-minute refresher/summary of their pre-recorded presentation during the ‘live’ panels. We think this is the best way to include as much as possible while ensuring the online presenters can fully participate in the discussion part of their respective panels. The panels will all be a mixture of in-person and online presenters and we will allow plenty of time for discussions.

Some final matters:

  * Due to a problem with the submission form, some people’s name dropped off the submission. If you haven’t done so already, can you please give your preferred name.
  * Presentation title: if you didn’t include a title with your submission, please respond to this email with one ASAP. If you are unsure whether you included a presentation title, please just add it again.
  * If there is anything about your submission details you would like to change or update, please respond to this email (even if you have let us know previously).

We are looking forward to meeting everyone in what is shaping up to be a rich and full event. In the coming weeks, we will provide further information about the schedule, online access, and details for those travelling to the University of Warwick (in Coventry).

Warm regards,

Nate, Carlos and Fangzhou
